Yes, Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation Inc. is a U.S. 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. When you give online, an acknowledgment will be emailed to you. That acknowledgment is your receipt for tax purposes. For gifts sent to our office, we will send a tax receipt to you through the mail. Please consult your tax advisor regarding deductibility in the U.S. or your country of residence.

An unrestricted gift to the SMH Fund is a contribution that can be used where it’s needed most. The SMH Fund enables Sarasota Memorial to immediately meet new opportunities and challenges in today’s dynamic healthcare environment. Your gift impacts the future of medicine today.
You can direct your gift to a specific purpose or program at Sarasota Memorial. Current priority initiatives are listed on the online giving form. Choose the area you would like to support from the “I want to support” drop-down menu. If you are mailing in your gift, please include your designation in an accompanying letter.

For gifts made online, check the box that says, “I would like the gift to remain anonymous.” Please include a note indicating your wish to remain anonymous for gifts sent to our office.
To honor or remember a loved one, friend, or family member, or thank an outstanding caregiver, you can make a tribute gift online. Check the box “I would like to dedicate this gift,” select the type of dedication, and enter the honoree’s name. If you would like us to notify someone about the gift, check the “I would like someone to receive communication about this gift” and provide the person’s name, email, and mailing address.
If mailing a check, please list the name of the person being remembered, honored, or thanked and provide the name and address of the person to be notified of the gift.
We will send a notification of your gift. We do not disclose the amount of your donation. If you donate anonymously, the notification will state that an anonymous donor made a gift.

Yes, when completing the online form, click the “Give securely” button and select an option from the “Make a Recurring Monthly Gift” pop-up window. The monthly gift you designate will be automatically billed to your credit card each month unless you modify or cancel it.

You may be able to double or triple your individual gift. Many companies match charitable gifts made by their employees and retirees. Search for your company here or consult your company’s human resources department to learn how your workplace matches charitable contributions to hospitals.
