On November 2, 1925, then-named Sarasota Hospital opened with 32 beds and 12 physicians. Philanthropy was the catalyst that launched the campaign to make Sarasota Hospital a reality. Sarasota residents and businesses came together to fund what would become one of the nation’s best hospitals.
