Healthcare Foundation Hosts Venice’s Second Annual Women & Medicine Educational Luncheon
February 23, 2026
On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, over 200 guests attended Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation’s Women & Medicine Educational Luncheon at Plantation Golf & Country Club. Venice’s second annual event featured an interactive panel discussion titled “Real Words: A Candid Conversation About Health, Hormones, and Happiness.” Proceeds raised will support Sarasota Memorial Health Care System’s mission of delivering world-class healthcare to our community.
The program opened with a welcome from event co-chairs Jennifer Douglas and Cindy Stuhley, followed by an update on Sarasota Memorial Health Care System from Sharon Roush, President of Sarasota Memorial Hospital–Venice.
The educational program was moderated by Lulu, co-host of the CMA-nominated Maverick and Lulu in the Morning show on 92.1 & 103.1 WCTQ, and featured a panel of female healthcare experts: Amanda Kane, M.D., FACOG, board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist; Sharfi Sarker, M.D., FACS, board-certified general surgeon and breast specialist; and Sonia Sharma, M.D., board-certified endocrinologist.
The discussion focused on demystifying menopause, highlighting its wide-ranging impact on women’s health and offering practical guidance for navigating this stage of life with confidence.
“We’re excited for Women & Medicine to be back in Venice for the second year,” said Healthcare Foundation President Stacey Corley. “This event brings women together to learn from trusted experts about the health issues that matter most at every stage of life, while also supporting Sarasota Memorial.”
