Sarasota Memorial’s high-quality care is now available in South Sarasota County. The newly expanded hospital and medical campus in Venice provide local residents with the same level of excellent medical and patient care they’ve come to expect from SMH, closer to home.

Facility Highlights

The 65-acre Laurel Road campus was designed to be flexible and expandable without impacting current operations. In future phases, SMH-Venice will have the capacity to double in size.

2026 Expansion:  Radiology

·  Two-story, 24,000 square foot addition with expanded radiology and MRI services including an interventional radiology suite, an MRI suite, two procedure rooms and 14 prep and recovery beds
·  Projected opening Fall 2026

2028 Expansion: Rehabilitation Pavilion

·  Four-story, 83,000 square feet, $82.5 million
·  Level 1:  Outpatient rehabilitation therapy and administrative space
·  Levels 2 & 3:  Inpatient rehabilitation units with 50 private patient suites, advanced therapy gyms, mobility-training areas, and therapy tools and spaces that replicate real-life activities and environments, including an apartment, kitchen, car and grocery store, to support recovery and independent living
·  Level 4:  Shell space for future expansion
·  Projected opening early 2028
