Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation recently awarded Sarasota Memorial Hospital (SMH) four grants totaling more than $728,000. The funds will be used to help purchase equipment for Cardiovascular Services and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

$400,000 was provided for the purchase of two EPIQ CVx Echo Ultrasound machines used for echocardiograms and will provide physicians with state-of-the-art imaging benefitting patients in the hospital and outpatient settings.

$37,960 was granted for the purchase of a TEE ultrasound probe used for trans-esophageal echocardiography for patients in cardiac arrest.

$37,219 was granted for the purchase of a CAE Luna infant simulation mannequin that will be used to train NICU, Labor and Delivery, and Mother and Baby staff as well as aid in certification of nurses, RT’s and medical providers for high-risk deliveries.
