The Healthcare Foundation Celebrates Opening of Milman-Kover Cancer Pavilion on SMH-Sarasota Campus
June 12, 2026
Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation welcomed donors, community leaders, physicians, and healthcare professionals this week to celebrate the opening of the new Milman-Kover Cancer Pavilion, a transformative addition to Sarasota Memorial Health Care System’s nationally recognized Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute.
The donor celebration was one of several grand opening events held throughout the week, culminating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community tours of the state-of-the-art facility. The new pavilion expands access to advanced treatments, innovative technologies, clinical research, and comprehensive cancer care for patients and families throughout the region.
At a special event recognizing the philanthropy that helped bring the project to life, Healthcare Foundation President Stacey Corley highlighted the vision, generosity, and partnership that made the pavilion possible, including the leadership support of Susan Milman and the foundational gift from the Jellison family that helped establish the Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute.
“This evening is a reminder of what can be accomplished when generous donors, dedicated healthcare professionals, and an entire community come together around a shared vision,” Corley said.
Located across the street from Sarasota Memorial’s Oncology Tower, the new outpatient pavilion brings together a full spectrum of cancer services under one roof and is connected to the tower by a pedestrian skybridge. Together, the facilities create a seamless environment for patients throughout every stage of cancer care.
The outpatient pavilion is the third major facility within the Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute. Sarasota Memorial opened its outpatient Radiation Oncology Center in 2020, followed by the eight-story Oncology Tower in 2021. The addition of the Milman-Kover Cancer Pavilion completes a premier destination for cancer care, bringing prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship services, and support programs together in a single location.
Guests attending the week’s events toured the facility, learned about its advanced treatment capabilities, and met members of the multidisciplinary teams who will provide care within the pavilion. The facility is home to the Boscia Breast Health Center, surgical oncology suites, infusion services, radiation oncology, advanced imaging, genetic testing and counseling, high-risk oncology services, and physician specialists from First Physicians Group and Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute.
“Today represents far more than the opening of a new facility,” said Kevin Cooper, chair of the Sarasota County Public Hospital Board. “It reflects our community’s commitment to ensuring that patients and families facing cancer have access to exceptional care, advanced treatment options, and compassionate support close to home.”
